About the company

The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) is a non-profit organization based in Santa Barbara County, California, committed to preventing and treating alcoholism and drug abuse. Since 1949, CADA has been providing services to build healthier lives, stronger families, and a safer, more vibrant community.

Through federal grant awards, CADA has provided comprehensive treatment and recovery support services for youth and families struggling with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring disorders. The GREAT OUTCOMES FOR ADOLESCENT AND FAMILY RECOVERY (GO FAR) project, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), aims to reduce SUDs among youth ages 12 to 25 by offering culturally relevant, trauma-informed, family-focused, integrated outpatient care. This includes early intervention, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), and recovery support services delivered through a county-wide network of partners. Additionally, CADA received a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for the Lompoc Youth Resiliency Project. CADA has also served as a sub-recipient partner for Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara County's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), providing mentoring services for youth through its School Based Mentoring Program.
