Confederacion De Nacionalidadesindigenas De La Amazonia Ecuatoriana

Confederacion De Nacionalidadesindigenas De La Amazonia Ecuatoriana (Confeniae) is an entity registered to receive federal grant awards from the U.S. government. It is categorized as an Other Not For Profit Organization and Community Development Corporation.

Confeniae has been a sub-recipient on several federal grant awards through partnerships with prime grantees like the World Wildlife Fund, Inc. (WWF). These grants aim to promote sustainable economic development, conserve biodiversity, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation in the Amazon region and indigenous communities. One grant focuses on improving the participation of indigenous peoples in sustainable Amazon economic development, incorporating their rights and interests into public and private sector planning. Another grant is the Forest Conservation Agriculture Alliance (FCAA), which seeks to conserve and restore degraded native forests while improving agricultural productivity and sustainability in regions like the Chaco, Pantanal, and Atlantic Forest ecoregions. FCAA's objectives include reducing deforestation and emissions from beef production, promoting sustainable production practices, creating markets for sustainable beef and soy, and sustainable land use management. The work involves field-testing sustainable practices, extension programs, traceability systems, and engagement with stakeholders like producers, exporters, government, indigenous peoples, and women's associations.
