About Chicago Recovering Communities Coalition
Chicago Recovering Communities Coalition (CRCC) is a nonprofit Recovery Community Organization that provides evidence-based peer recovery support services to individuals seeking recovery from alcohol, drugs, and mental illness. CRCC is a peer-driven and peer-led organization registered as a corporate tax-exempt entity, and is classified as a minority-owned, woman-owned, and Black American-owned non-profit organization.
CRCC has received multiple federal grant awards from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Through a $489,970 grant under SAMHSA's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance program, CRCC is implementing the Recovery United Project to improve organizational and structural changes at 102 recovery-oriented institutions and community-based organizations across Illinois. CRCC has also received a $2,910,216 grant from SAMHSA to offer the Independent Living Program, providing comprehensive recovery support services such as recovery management plans, job training and placement, peer support, sober activities, and health/wellness services for uninsured and high-risk individuals in substance use disorder treatment and recovery. Furthermore, CRCC has received sub-grants from the Illinois Department of Human Services under the Substance Abuse Block Grant program.
