About the company
Centro Colombo Americano De Bucaramanga, a foreign-owned, minority-owned nonprofit educational institution headquartered in Bucaramanga, Colombia, operates as a federal grant recipient delivering English-language instruction, educational technology infrastructure, and study-abroad counseling services to underserved populations in Colombia through awards from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
Centro operates exclusively as a grant recipient (100% of recent awards); it holds no federal contracts, contract vehicles, or subcontract positions. The vendor's entire footprint derives from four Department of State entities, with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs accounting for 88% of recent awards. Recent grant work includes a May 2026 project grant (completion date May 2027) under the Colombia-ASSF program to launch educational initiatives including Kids' Corner, English for Agricultural Purposes, and STEAM and esports tools; an August 2025 project grant (completion August 2026) supporting the same programming; a June 2024 project grant (extended to September 2025) providing English-language instruction and esports infrastructure to children from vulnerable areas; a June 2024 EducationUSA Opportunity Fund grant (extended to September 2025) covering up-front application costs for Colombian graduate students seeking U.S. university admission; an August 2023 American Spaces Support Funds project grant (completion July 2024) with a $6,300 cost amendment for technology; a May 2023 project grant (completion May 2024) promoting U.S. study through public events; a May 2022 American Spaces Grant with a cost amendment and new purchase order (completion May 2023); and a September 2021 project grant (completion December 2022) funding an EducationUSA adviser salary. Combined obligated dollars across all twenty-five awards in the source data total $292 thousand. Activity remains sparse and level — one to two awards per year since 2022 — with two awards facing ultimate completion in the next twenty-four months. Centro operates no parent contract vehicles and generates no subcontractor revenue; its mission centers on English instruction, educational technology deployment, and facilitation of educational exchange between Colombia and the United States.
