About the company
Black Mountain Outfitters, Inc. is a family owned Montana outfitting business that provides horseback riding, camping, fishing, and packing trips in Yellowstone National Park and the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness. As a corporate entity registered in SAM.gov since 2004, Black Mountain Outfitters has received several federal contract awards from the U.S. Forest Service to provide horses, mules, and pack animals.
The federal contract awards received by Black Mountain Outfitters have mostly been set aside for small businesses to supply horses, mules, and pack animals to various regions and ranger districts of the U.S. Forest Service. Specific contract descriptions include purchase orders to add horses and mules to stock teams, packing strings, and riding and driving animals in regions such as the Intermountain, Pacific Northwest, Northern, and Bridger-Teton. The potential value of these federal contract awards has ranged from $5,500 to $23,250, with required completion dates spanning from 2020 to 2023. The types of animals supplied have included stock to meet outlined standards and specifications, support forest operations, and contribute to packing capabilities.
