About Asian / Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project
The Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project (A/PI DVRP), a minority-owned non-profit organization, provides culturally and linguistically specific services to Asian and Pacific Islander survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Through federal grant funding, A/PI DVRP offers trauma-informed therapies, case management, peer support groups, education, outreach, and technical assistance to service providers working with this population. Their mission is to end gender-based violence in Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
A/PI DVRP has received several federal grants to carry out this work. Through the Office on Violence Against Women's Culturally and Linguistically Specific Services Program, they were awarded $400,000 to provide direct social services, develop a peer organizer program, and increase access to support for A/PI survivors. They also received a $214,285 cooperative agreement from the Administration for Children and Families to deliver culturally specific services like case management, peer groups, education/outreach, and technical assistance related to gender-based violence in A/PI communities. Additionally, A/PI DVRP has served as a subrecipient on federal grants from agencies like the Departments of Justice and Criminal Justice Services, providing multilingual case management, trauma therapies, capacity building for community providers, and outreach focused on domestic violence prevention and response for A/PI populations.
