State Veterans Home Construction Grant Program
The State Veterans Home Construction Grant Program provides grants to state governments and federally recognized tribal governments for the construction or renovation of state veterans extended care facilities. The Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Construction and Facilities Management is administering the program, with the federal government's participation not to exceed 65 percent of the total project costs. Governing regulations can be found in 38 CFR Part 59, and along with the Grants.gov submission, applicants must submit VA Form 10-0388-14 items A1-A18 to the VA by April 15, 2011 to be included on the FY 2012 priority list. Award amounts can range from approximately $365,000 to $192 million, with the funding used for infrastructure improvements, facility expansions, new construction, and COVID-19 related safety enhancements.
