The Department of Transportation Immediate Office of the Secretary Transportation awarded a $1.15 million Cooperative Agreement to the Indiana Department of Transportation on November 30, 2026, under the Regional Infrastructure Accelerators Program (CFDA 20.951). The award funds a detailed assessment of alternatives for the project pipeline focused on economic and financial feasibility, financial planning and implementation modeling, identification of local authorities and stakeholders for evaluation and planning, and project screening and selection. INDOT will deliver a work plan, quarterly reports, project deliverables, and compliance documentation under 2 CFR 200. The period of performance runs through November 29, 2029, with all activities performed in Indiana. The beneficiaries are local and central Indiana region commuters. The Regional Infrastructure Accelerators Program provides technical resources and planning assistance to develop improved infrastructure priorities and financing strategies for projects eligible for U.S. Department of Transportation credit assistance, including evaluation of innovative financing methods such as public-private partnerships and bundling of smaller-scale and rural projects into larger investment opportunities.
