P24AS00251 - 2024 Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program
This grant opportunity from the National Park Service Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program seeks applications for cost-share grants to fund preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, planning, research, and education projects involving transportation-related properties from Route 66's period of significance from 1926-1985. Eligible applicants include local and tribal governments, nonprofits, educational institutions, and private individuals. Applications are due April 19, 2024 and will be evaluated based on project need, impact, methodology and applicant qualifications. Up to 10 awards are expected to be made by May 30, 2024. Grants of $5,000 to $30,000 will be awarded, requiring a 1:1 non-federal match. Approximately $90,000 is available total for this program to fund work along historic sites within the Route 66 corridor, as defined by the Route 66 Corridor Preservation Act administered by the National Park Service under CFDA #15.958. Construction projects will be subject to additional laws, standards, and insurance requirements.

Route 66 Grant Program
The National Park Service, Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program, is dedicated to preserving the diverse history of U.S. Highway 66. The program provides financial assistance in the form of competitive, cost-share grants for building, structures, road segments, and cultural landscapes along the length of the Route 66 corridor covering Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Cost-share grants are also available for planning, researching, and education initiatives related to the preservation of Route 66. The legislation enabling this program is provided through the Route 66 Corridor Preservation Act of 1999 (Public Law 106-45; 111-11 Section 7304) which is administered by the National Park Service.
