THE PURPOSE OF THIS AGREEMENT IS TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO THE WATER DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (WDC) FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF LAPRELE DAM PRECONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. PRECONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ENGINEERING AND DESIGN, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE ACTIVITIES RELATED TO RECONSTRUCTION OF LAPRELE DAM. The federal Cooperative Agreement award R24AC00527, totaling $101,680,000.00, was issued by the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation under the Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, or Replacement of Carey Act Dams program (CFDA 15.077). The objective of this award is to perform engineering and construction activities to build a new roller-compacted concrete dam to replace the existing LaPrele Dam in Converse County, Wyoming. The award supports a 4-year construction schedule from March 2025 to December 2029 to address structural deficiencies, enhance water storage capabilities, and mitigate safety risks associated with the aging dam infrastructure. The Water Development Commission, a U.S. state government entity and planning commission, is the prime awardee responsible for overseeing this project. This award follows a preceding $16,925,700 cooperative agreement that funded preconstruction activities, including engineering, design, and environmental compliance work.
