About this program

The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is funding cooperative agreements to purchase and distribute organic dairy products to children and young adults in institutional settings including colleges, universities, K-12 schools, and other youth-focused program sites, under Assistance Listing 10.195. The most recent grant awards were disbursed on January 2, 2025.

AMS disburses awards exclusively through noncompetitive cooperative agreements with Dairy Business Innovation Initiatives (DBIs). The program structure requires applicants to hold an existing Dairy Business Innovation Initiative grant with AMS as a prerequisite. AMS works collaboratively with DBIs to develop proposals using a provided template; once both AMS and the DBI agree the proposal is finalized, the cooperative agreement is awarded. Awards run for three years with the option to request a one-year no-cost extension within 30 days of the end of the performance period.

Recent activity shows three cooperative agreement awards all dated January 2, 2025, with completion dates of September 9, 2025. The program obligated negative federal dollars across the three awards (reflecting adjustments or de-obligations), with individual award obligations of $1,523,717.97, -$3,750,000.00, and $0.00 respectively. The portfolio reports 3 awards per year in 2025, though the sample size is limited. AMS is the sole funding agency under this Assistance Listing.

Recipients must retain all federal award records—including financial records, supporting documentation, and statistical records—for three years from the date of final financial report submission. Award structures vary based on how DBIs elect to organize their sub-awards.

No currently open grant opportunities are present in the source. The program encompasses a defined performance period of December 1, 2024 through November 30, 2027.
