About this opportunity
The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner is seeking competitive bids for the Pontiac Booster Station Window Replacement project located in Pontiac, Michigan. The procurement involves comprehensive window replacement at the municipal water facility, specifically requiring removal of existing windows and installation of five new aluminum fixed and vented window units across the north, west, and south walls. The east wall will require additional work, including curtain wall removal, masonry infill, new interior column board enclosures, and limited landscape restoration. Bidders must submit electronic proposals through BidNet before 10:00 am on April 30, 2025, with a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for April 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at 522 S. Opdyke Road, Pontiac. Contractors must provide a 5% bid bond or certified/cashier's check, demonstrate experience qualifications, submit a preliminary project schedule, and comply with local building permit requirements from the City of Pontiac. The project has a targeted completion timeline of 150 calendar days for Substantial Completion and 180 calendar days for Final Completion from the Notice to Proceed, with the contract awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder subject to final approval by the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documentation, potential bidders must meet comprehensive qualification standards including technical capability, prior experience with similar municipal infrastructure projects, and financial stability. The project does not indicate any incumbent vendors or specific integration requirements with existing infrastructure, though contractors should anticipate potential hazardous material testing and removal as part of the window replacement scope. While an exact budget range is not specified in the provided documents, the comprehensive nature of the project—involving window replacement, masonry work, interior painting, and landscape restoration—suggests a significant capital investment. Contractors will need to demonstrate robust capabilities in architectural renovation, municipal facility improvements, and compliance with public works standards. The project appears to be fully funded through Oakland County Water Resources, with bidders expected to provide competitive pricing within the project's technical specifications and performance requirements.
