About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service, is soliciting sealed bids for the Wolfe Creek 2026 Salvage Sale, a timber harvest on Blackwater River State Forest in Santa Rosa County, with bids opening October 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM CDT at 11650 Munson Highway, Milton, Florida 32570. The sale covers salvage harvest of merchantable pine and hardwood timber damaged by Hurricane Isaias on October 9, 2026, across 11,689 acres within SFI Certified Forest BVC-SFIFM-700005.
Products are salvage pine pulpwood, salvage pine chip-n-saw, salvage pine sawtimber, and salvage hardwood pulpwood. Timber that is blown down, broken off, leaning more than 15 degrees, or otherwise damaged is available for harvest. Timber that does not meet these criteria may be harvested only with approval of the Forester-in-Charge. Substantial damage areas carry the highest harvest priority and must be cut before lower-damage areas. There is no volume estimate for this sale. Sale boundaries follow roads, wetlands, forest boundaries, recreational sites, and timber type changes or undamaged areas, as shown on the attached Wolfe Creek 2026 Map, which excludes the Briar Patch Timber Sale area.
The successful bidder must begin harvesting within 10 business days of contract execution. The contract term is six months.
This sale is advertised concurrently with the Coldwater 2026 Salvage Sale and West Boundary 2026 Salvage Sale. If the same bidder places the highest acceptable bid on multiple sales, that bidder must forfeit all but one sale to the next highest bidder, unless it demonstrates adequate equipment and personnel to harvest multiple sales simultaneously.
The Florida Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularity in bids received. Complete bid information is available from Eric Howell at (850) 957-5725.
