About this opportunity

Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin is seeking sealed bids for a wire deer fencing project associated with the Desired Regeneration through Assisted Migration (DReAM) Study on Fish and Wildlife lands in Pine Poppel Wild River SNA in Florence County. The procurement involves constructing six woven wire deer exclosure fences, each measuring approximately 980 linear feet, totaling 5,880 linear feet of fencing. The fencing specifications require a 9-10 foot height with a 1-foot overlap at the base to prevent burrowing animals, and must include six eight-foot vehicle gates. The contractor must provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to complete the project, with a specific requirement that the fencing be maintenance-free and have a 20-year life expectancy. The project is scheduled for completion by April 30, 2025, weather permitting, with the bid submission deadline set for January 23, 2025. The contract opportunity is identified by the State Local Contract Opportunity ID 67793855d9b52e0e040d1244 and was originally posted on January 3, 2025.

While no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on bidder types are explicitly mentioned in the procurement documentation, the project appears to be a standard competitive bid opportunity open to qualified contractors with expertise in wildlife fencing and construction. The project does not indicate a predetermined budget range, but interested bidders should be prepared to provide comprehensive pricing for the entire fencing installation, including materials and labor. The scope of work suggests a specialized project requiring technical proficiency in constructing durable, long-lasting wildlife exclusion fencing with specific dimensional and durability requirements. Potential bidders should carefully review the full specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with the project's technical requirements. The project is funded through state wildlife management resources and is specifically aimed at supporting research and conservation efforts in the Pine Poppel Wild River State Natural Area.
