About this opportunity
The Town of Belvidere in Grand Isle County, Vermont, is soliciting bids for winter road and parking area maintenance services for the 2025-2026 winter season. The procurement seeks a contractor to plow and sand multiple municipal areas, including Class 3 roads, the town gravel pit access road, dry hydrant accesses, and municipal parking areas for the Town Clerk's Office. As an additional potential service, the contractor may be required to plow and sand the Belvidere Central School parking lot for an additional surcharge not exceeding $3,500 per winter season. The bid evaluation will not be based solely on the lowest price, but rather on a comprehensive assessment of qualifications and proposed costs. Interested contractors are strongly encouraged to visit the town's highway network and parking areas before submitting proposals. The submission deadline is 3:00 PM on September 16, 2025, with proposals accepted via email, U.S. mail, or hand delivery to the Belvidere Town Clerk's Office. The contractor selection will occur during the Selectboard meeting on September 17, 2025, with notifications to be sent on September 18, 2025.
There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions mentioned for respondents, suggesting the opportunity is open to all qualified contractors. Potential bidders must obtain the full Contract for Services either through the town's website (townofbelviderevt.com) or by picking up a printed copy at the Town Clerk's Office during business hours. The town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, indicating a flexible procurement approach. Interested parties can contact Road Commissioner Kevin Leavitt at 802-582-0538 or townclerk@townofbelviderevt.com for additional information or questions. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the potential additional service for the school parking lot suggests a maximum additional compensation of $3,500. The procurement appears to be a standard municipal winter maintenance contract without any specified technology integration requirements or mentions of incumbent vendors.
