The sale covers a total area of 10,194 acres.
The sale offers salvage pine pulpwood, salvage pine chip-n-saw, salvage pine sawtimber, and salvage hardwood pulpwood from timber damaged by Hurricane Isaias on October 9, 2026. Harvestable timber includes trees that are blown down, broken off, leaning more than 15 degrees, or otherwise damaged. Undamaged timber may be harvested only with approval from the Forester-in-Charge. Areas of extensive damage carry the highest harvest priority, and approximately 4,032 acres surrounding red-cockaded woodpecker clusters must be salvaged before March 15, 2027. The forest is SFI Certified (BVC-SFIFM-700005). The advertisement states no volume estimate.
The successful bidder must begin harvesting within 10 business days of contract execution. The contract term is six months. The sale is advertised concurrently with the Coldwater 2026 Salvage Sale and Wolfe Creek 2026 Salvage Sale. Bids are opened at 11650 Munson Highway, Milton, Florida 32570. Complete bid information is available from Eric Howell at (850) 957-5725 or the Blackwater Forestry Center at (850) 957-5722.
