About this opportunity

The St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking to establish a pool of qualified contractors to permanently abandon wells in support of its Abandoned Artesian Well Plugging Cooperative Cost Sharing Program. The well plugging services are intended to prevent the contamination of water, the uncontrolled flow of water from wells, and inter-aquifer flow of water through well bores, in accordance with Florida Administrative Code and Florida Statutes. Respondents must demonstrate qualifications, experience in artesian well abandonment and drilling, and available equipment to perform the work. The selected pool of qualified contractors will have the opportunity to submit quotes for each project for a period of 12 months, with an option for two 12-month renewals. The estimated budget for the first term of the project (October 1, 2022 - September 30, 2023) is $500,000.00, but the District reserves the right to adjust the estimate, increase, decrease, or delete any class, item, or part of the work, and to discuss alternatives for reducing the cost of the work with respondents.

The solicitation does not appear to include any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The District cautions that the estimated budget amount is just an estimate and does not limit the District in awarding the agreement. There is no information provided about incumbent vendors or current contractors, or any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration.
