About this opportunity
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation is requesting sealed proposals for water improvements at Stone Mountain State Park in Roaring Gap, Alexander County, with proposals due June 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the park office. The project is a general construction single-prime contract requiring lump-sum bids.
The scope comprises removal of an existing 2,000-gallon hydropneumatics tank, installation of a new 4,000-gallon hydropneumatics tank, installation of a new water supply well, and associated plumbing and electrical improvements. All bids must include an Identification of Minority Business Participation form with either Affidavit A or B as applicable; failure to complete these forms results in bid rejection. Bid security equal to 5 percent of the proposal amount is required, furnished as a cash deposit, certified check, or bid bond executed by a North Carolina-licensed surety company. Upon award, performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price will be required. Payment is made at 95 percent of monthly estimates with final payment upon completion and acceptance. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the closing time.
Complete plans, specifications, and contract documents are available for inspection at Finch & Associates (3010 Anderson Drive, Suite 170, Raleigh, NC 27609), Duncan Parnell, and East Coast Digital Minority Plan Room (703 SE Greenville Boulevard, Greenville, NC 27858).
