About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for demolition services in Marion County, specifically targeting the Vienna Maintenance Building and Two Bay Salt Structure located in Vienna, Missouri. The project requires comprehensive demolition services, including dismantling walls down to the concrete pad, complete site debris removal, and final site inspection, all to be completed according to precise specifications under the supervision of the Facility Operations Supervisor. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory site visit on May 31, 2017, between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, with Allen Wankum available to address questions. The bid submission period runs from May 22, 2017, to June 8, 2017, at 3:00 PM CDT, with bids to be evaluated based on the lowest and best responsive proposal. Contractors must provide quality management oversight, as MoDOT will not conduct daily inspections, and must comply with three critical hold points requiring MoDOT approval during the demolition process.
The procurement encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with suggested participation goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE. All bidders must be registered in the MissouriBUYS system to access full solicitation documents and submit proposals. The contract includes specific insurance requirements, mandating commercial general liability coverage of $500,000 per person and $3,000,000 per occurrence, automobile liability with matching limits, and Missouri State Workers' Compensation coverage. Contractors will be subject to prevailing wage requirements for Maries County and must provide a one-year warranty on all building materials, equipment, and labor. Liquidated damages of $300 per day will be assessed for late completion, and payment terms are set at Net 45 days. While no specific incumbent vendor is mentioned, the contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder who meets all mandatory specifications and requirements.
