About this opportunity
The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is seeking qualified local videographers or firms to provide comprehensive video production services for regional initiatives in the Kansas City metropolitan area. This Request for Proposals (RFP) covers videography services needed between October 31, 2025, and October 31, 2027, with a potential one-year renewal option. The scope of work includes producing educational videos, training course videos, documentation of meetings and special events, and content for MARC's annual Regional Assembly and Leadership Awards event. Proposals are due electronically by 5 p.m. on September 26, 2025, with an anticipated evaluation and selection process to be completed by October 10, 2025. Evaluation criteria will focus on understanding project requirements, vendor qualifications, task completion ability, and service costs. Vendors must demonstrate expertise in video production, comply with digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 Level AA), and be prepared to disclose any AI-generated content. MARC may select multiple vendors to support their diverse video production needs.
The solicitation emphasizes a local vendor preference, specifically seeking firms based in or with an established presence in the Kansas City metropolitan area. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the RFP includes provisions for cooperative purchasing, allowing MARC member governments in Missouri and Kansas to potentially utilize the negotiated rates. Vendors will be required to submit various federal and state compliance documentation for specific project contracts. The RFP requires proposals to include detailed qualifications, work samples, estimated costs, and service rates. Although a specific budget range is not provided, the contract's two-year duration with a potential one-year extension suggests a comprehensive and potentially substantial engagement. The solicitation covers jurisdictions including Jackson County and multiple Kansas City locations, indicating a broad regional scope for the videography services.
Opportunity text
The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) serves as the metropolitan planning organization and association of local governments for the nine-county Kansas City region. MARC coordinates regional initiatives and provides support services to local governments in areas such as transportation, emergency response, environment, early learning and older adult services. Many of MARC's programs involve education and public outreach efforts that may require video production services. MARC seeks a qualified local videographer or firm (based in the Kansas City metro area, or with an office/staff presence already established in the Kansas City area) to provide these services as needed over the next two years. Some examples of the types of video projects that may be needed are: • Educational videos on a variety of topics. • Videos for trainings and courses. • Videos for MARC's annual Regional Assembly and Leadership Awards event. • Video documentation of meetings and special events, or MARC's work in the field. The agreement is expected to cover video services performed between Oct. 31, 2025, and Oct. 31, 2027, with the option to renew for one more year. MARC may select more than one videography vendor to support projects as part of this contact.
