About this opportunity

The City of Rochester Hills in Oakland County, Michigan, is seeking sealed bids for the Van Hoosen Jones/Stoney Creek Cemetery Irrigation Improvements Project, with electronic submissions required through the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) by 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The project scope involves comprehensive irrigation system upgrades, including complete abandonment and removal of existing infrastructure and installation of a new underground irrigation system within the cemetery. Key deliverables include placement of new piping, irrigation heads, controllers, minor concrete walk replacement, and full project restoration. Bidders must submit a certified check or bid bond representing at least 5% of their total bid amount and demonstrate previous experience in similar infrastructure work. The city will evaluate potential contractors based on financial capability, qualifications, and performance records, with a public bid opening conducted via Zoom Teleconference. Interested contractors must first register as vendors on the city's website and obtain bid documents from the MITN system, with a non-refundable documentation fee of $45.00.

The procurement opportunity has specific restrictions, including a prohibition on Iran Linked Businesses submitting bids, and requires all successful bidders to provide comprehensive insurance certificates and performance, payment, and maintenance bonds from a surety licensed in Michigan. The contract will be awarded to a contractor capable of meeting technical specifications and demonstrating financial stability, with the City of Rochester Hills reserving the right to reject any or all proposals. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly detailed, the comprehensive nature of the irrigation system replacement suggests a substantial infrastructure investment. Electronic submissions are mandatory, with the city accepting documents in docx, xlsx, pdf, jpg, tif, or rtf formats. The final contract remains contingent upon executing a written agreement acceptable to the City of Rochester Hills, and portions of the contract may be deleted without compensation due to unforeseen circumstances. Potential bidders should carefully review all documentation and addenda posted on the MITN website to ensure full compliance with procurement requirements.
