About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking competitive sealed bids for the procurement of vacuum truck aluminum slide-in tanks through an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for Leon County. The solicitation specifically requests two 550-gallon and one 900-gallon aluminum slide-in tanks with detailed technical specifications for each tank type. Bids are due on November 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM EST, with a public bid opening scheduled for 10:00 AM EST on the same day. All bidders must be registered in the State of Florida's MyFloridaMarketPlace system and submit firm, net, delivered prices F.O.B. destination. The contract will become effective upon receipt of a fully approved purchase order and will expire two years from that date, with potential renewal options for up to three additional years. Deliveries are expected within thirty calendar days of receiving a purchase order, with the primary delivery location being the FDOT EOEM Building in Tallahassee, Florida.

The solicitation includes several key requirements and preferences for bidders, including an in-state preference of 5% that may be applied if the lowest bid is from an out-of-state vendor. Bidders must complete multiple forms, including an In-State Preference Form, Vendor Certification Regarding Scrutinized Companies Lists, and an E-Verify form. The FDOT encourages the use of products with recycled content and requires strict compliance with state regulations, including adherence to section 20.055(5), Florida Statutes. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the bidding process appears open to qualified vendors who can meet the technical specifications and regulatory requirements. The solicitation does not specify a precise budget range, but bidders should be prepared to provide competitive pricing for the three vacuum truck tanks. Prospective bidders are prohibited from contacting FDOT employees between the solicitation release and the 72-hour period following the notice of intended award, with violations potentially resulting in bid rejection.
