About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on one utility trailer for the Bureau of Parks and Lands Wildlife program, with sealed bids due February 9, 2011.

The trailer must meet detailed specifications: 16-foot length, 77–81-inch width, 7,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating, dual 3,500-pound e-z lube braking axles, ST205/75-15 load range B tires with mounted spare, double eye multi-leaf spring suspension, 2 5/16-inch A-frame coupler, and 4-inch channel tongue. The deck comprises a 2-inch pressure-treated wood floor with 14-inch uprights of 2-inch by 2-inch angle iron and a 4-foot expanded metal mesh tailgate rated for 3,000 pounds. Additional equipment includes a 2,000-pound top wind jack, steel fenders, DOT-compliant lighting, and a 7-way RV electrical connector. The trailer must be finished in automotive-grade dark green enamel and delivered to Augusta, Maine by May 1, 2011. In-state vendors may arrange pickup.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder considering best value to the State, with evaluation factors including quality, conformance to specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. All transportation charges shall be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Bidders must specify payment terms and cash discounts; discounts of less than 20 days will not be considered in award decisions. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes and requests quotes without these taxes. Sealed bids must be submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases prior to closing. Vendor questions must be submitted through the designated Q&A portal on the Solicitation Details View page.
