About this opportunity
Dane County, Wisconsin, through its Department of Planning & Development, is soliciting proposals for the USPLSS Monument Perpetuation and Maintenance Project, a land surveying services contract designed to perpetuate and re-establish United States Public Land Survey System (USPLSS) monuments and meander/witness corners across ten townships. The procurement seeks professional land surveyors capable of documenting and preserving land survey monuments and boundaries, with specific requirements for coordinate and data acquisition. The Request for Proposal (RFP) was released on June 27, 2024, with questions due by July 16, 2024, and proposal submissions required by August 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The contract will span five years, with vendors mandated to complete at least one township per contract year. Evaluation will be comprehensive, totaling 105 points across six categories: organizational capabilities (15 points), staff qualifications (15 points), work plan (20 points), coordinate and data acquisition requirements (20 points), cost (30 points), and local vendor preference (5 points).
The RFP does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or specific restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Vendors will be required to submit lump sum pricing per township group and obtain written verification of funding availability before initiating work on subsequent townships. The county reserves the right to adjust project quantities to meet actual needs and will provide landowner notifications before work commences in each township. The top two scoring vendors may be awarded contracts for the two specified project groups, though specific budget ranges or total contract values are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation. The project appears to be an ongoing initiative dependent on available funding, with potential for future extensions based on performance and county requirements. Successful respondents will need to demonstrate robust surveying capabilities, precise data collection methodologies, and the ability to work systematically across Dane County's complex geographical landscape.
