About this opportunity
The State of Georgia, specifically the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (BOR), is issuing an electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) to establish a contract for E-Rate Internet Access services. This procurement is being conducted on behalf of multiple state agencies, including the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). The primary objective is to secure a single qualified Internet Service Provider (ISP) that can deliver Internet Access services, defined as a data communications conduit providing direct connectivity to the global Internet. The procurement will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, and responsible supplier who meets all specified requirements and with whom the state can successfully negotiate contract terms. The solicitation (ID: 6784fc91a4dadfa76d054868) was posted on January 8, 2025, with proposals due by February 12, 2025. The BOR reserves the right to add or remove E-Rate and non-E-Rate eligible entities within Georgia throughout the contract's duration.
The solicitation does not explicitly mention specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The contract appears to be open to qualified Internet Service Providers who can meet the technical and service requirements. While no specific budget range is provided, the procurement suggests a comprehensive statewide internet access contract that could potentially cover multiple educational and juvenile justice institutions. The BOR's flexibility to add or remove entities indicates the potential for a significant and dynamic contract scope. The E-Rate program, which typically provides discounts for telecommunications services to eligible schools and libraries, suggests that the selected provider will need to be familiar with federal telecommunications support mechanisms and be capable of serving multiple institutional clients across the state of Georgia.
