About this opportunity

Wise County, Texas is requesting sealed bids for one used excavator by July 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. central time, with a qualified local-vendor preference allowing award to a local bidder within three percent of the lowest bid price.

The excavator must be 2022 or newer with 600 or fewer operating hours, weigh between 17,000 and 22,000 pounds, and include a digging bucket, ditch smooth bucket, grapple, and compactor. Bids must be submitted as a lump sum including all ancillary costs—freight, delivery, installation, and any other extraneous fees. Prices shall remain firm for the contract period and exclude federal and Texas state sales, excise, and use taxes. Invoices will be paid on a net 30 basis.

Funding has been appropriated through the Wise County budget for the current fiscal year (October 1 through September 30), with obligations extending beyond that fiscal year subject to budget approval. The contract may be canceled by either party with 30 days written notification.

Sealed bids will be publicly opened and read on July 9, 2026 at the Wise County Asset Control Office, 400 W Walnut, Decatur, Texas 76234, or via mail to P.O. Box 952, Decatur, TX 76234. Award consideration will occur at the next regularly scheduled Wise County Commissioners' Court meeting. Bidders must submit a completed bid form with original signatures, a specifications checklist, and a notarized affidavit; bids not submitted on required forms will be summarily disqualified. Wise County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
