About this opportunity

The Town of Cambridge is seeking bids for a culvert replacement project on Upper Pleasant Valley Road, located 2.8 miles south of VT 108 in Grand Isle County. The procurement is a competitive proposal process funded by the Town of Cambridge and the State of Vermont, requiring a comprehensive culvert infrastructure upgrade. Specific project deliverables include replacing a 48" CMP with an 81" X 59" pipe arch, installing stone headwalls, and completing pavement replacement to match existing thickness. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for July 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the project site, and bids must be submitted by August 5, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. to the Town Municipal Offices in Jeffersonville. Bid evaluation will consider compliance with prescribed requirements, unit prices, and total project costs, with the owner reserving the right to reject any non-conforming or unresponsive bids. The project has a contractual duration of 30 days, with all construction work to be completed before September 22, 2025.

The contract opportunity does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises. Contractors must comply with local, state, and federal regulations and will be responsible for trucking materials, handling unsuitable soils, and coordinating with the town's highway management. Stones and aggregates will be supplied and initially loaded by the town at their gravel pit, with contractors responsible for transportation. The project contact is Highway Manager Eric Boozan, who can be reached at 802-363-2146 or eric@cambridgevt.org for additional bid document information. While no specific budget range is detailed, the project involves infrastructure replacement and is jointly funded by municipal and state resources, suggesting a public works investment typical of rural Vermont infrastructure maintenance projects.
