About this opportunity

Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania - Bloomsburg Campus is seeking bids for comprehensive upgrades to the Haas Performing Arts Center through a competitive bidding process. The project involves extensive exterior and interior renovations, including installation of aluminum curtain wall assemblies, accent lighting, pin-mount signage, concrete column repairs, and significant interior modifications. Specific scope elements include constructing a sound booth, adding a lobby performance platform, installing a platform lift, replacing acoustical treatments, and modifying existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications systems. Two alternate bid options are available: Alternate No. 1 involves replacing acoustical wall treatments in the auditorium, while Alternate No. 2 includes installing cladding assemblies on five exterior columns. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit are scheduled for December 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Haas Mitrani Lobby, with electronic bids due no later than 1:00 PM EDT on January 21, 2026, through the PennBid platform. The procurement will be accomplished using separate prime contractors, with the General Contractor serving as the lead prime contractor.

The solicitation appears to be open to general, mechanical, and electrical contractors without specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. Bidders must download contract documents via the PennBid platform at no cost and adhere to Pennsylvania statutory requirements for project coordination and contractor responsibilities. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of renovations suggests a substantial project investment covering multiple systems and structural improvements. The project requires contractors with expertise in performing arts facility upgrades, capable of managing complex renovations involving architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural modifications. Interested contractors must demonstrate technical capabilities to execute intricate renovation work in a higher education performing arts center environment, with particular attention to acoustic, accessibility, and infrastructure integration requirements.
