About this opportunity
Rockford Public Schools is soliciting sealed bids for a turnkey uninterruptible power supply installation at the Rockford Freshman Center in Kent County, Michigan, with a pre-bid meeting on November 5, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. in the Rockford Freshman Center Media Center. The mandatory alternates name a Vertiv AMP2 56SC015BNCNNA0E 15 KVA UPS module, a maintenance bypass cabinet, and valve-regulated lead-acid batteries, with optional voluntary alternates permitted.
The contractor supplies and installs a modular, scalable, digital UPS for the district's data center serving multiple instructional facilities. Work includes demolition and disposal of the existing 3-phase UPS, all associated electrical work, and compliance with applicable permits and state requirements. Bids must be submitted in sealed packages at the district office, and faxed or electronic bids are not accepted. Intent to bid is due November 18, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., and the public bid opening is November 24, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. in the Rockford Public Schools Board Room, 350 N. Main, Rockford, Michigan.
Each base bid must include bid security equal to 5% of the total bid amount, provided as a bid bond or certified check payable to Rockford Public Schools. The selected contractor must furnish performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the bid amount, issued by a Michigan-licensed surety. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, general liability of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million general aggregate, automobile liability, and contingent liability and property damage coverage. The project qualifies for E-rate funding under the FY26 universal service support mechanism for services provided April 1, 2027 through September 2028, and the contractor must hold a USF Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN). The owner reserves the right to modify contract amounts based on E-rate funding levels and to award portions of the project to multiple bidders if deemed in the owner's best interest. Bids remain valid for 90 days from opening, work must begin within 10 calendar days of the Purchase Order, and 10% retainage is held on all payments until final completion and close-out.
