About this opportunity

The University of North Georgia (UNG) is conducting an electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) for Charter Bus Services under the State Purchasing Act, seeking qualified bus charter companies to provide transportation services for students attending out-of-town games and other events. The procurement aims to establish contracts with a Primary and Secondary Contractor, with the initial contract term beginning on July 1, 2026, and potential for up to four additional annual renewal periods. Qualified vendors must be capable of providing comprehensive transportation services, with the specific deliverables including student transportation to various events and potential additional transportation needs as determined by UNG. The solicitation was posted on February 4, 2025, with proposals due by March 7, 2025, indicating a procurement timeline of approximately one month for potential bidders to prepare and submit their responses. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the provided information, vendors can expect to be assessed on their ability to meet the transportation requirements, safety records, fleet capabilities, and overall service quality.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were mentioned in the contract opportunity description. The procurement appears to be open to qualified bus charter companies that can demonstrate the capability to provide safe, reliable student transportation services. The document does not indicate an incumbent vendor or specify exact budget ranges or award values for the contract. Given that the contract involves charter bus services for a university and allows for potential additional transportation services, interested vendors should anticipate a comprehensive evaluation of their operational capabilities, fleet size, maintenance standards, driver qualifications, and pricing structures. The intent to award both a Primary and Secondary Contractor suggests UNG is seeking to ensure robust and flexible transportation service coverage for their student transportation needs.
