About this opportunity
The University of Georgia's Dining Services is conducting an electronic Request for Proposals (eRFP) to secure a qualified concessionaire for a smoothie food service operation on the Athens Campus. The procurement, governed by the State Purchasing Act, seeks a supplier who will fully self-operate a smoothie concept concession with comprehensive responsibilities including product sourcing, inventory management, staffing, customer service, recipe development, menu management, health and safety compliance, internal branding, and quality assurance. The selected vendor must also provide bulk campus catering opportunities for groups and events. Proposals are due by March 5, 2025, with the contract award being made to the most responsive and responsible supplier receiving the highest Total Combined Score. The initial contract term is one year, with potential for four additional annual renewals at the University's discretion. Evaluation will focus on the supplier's ability to meet operational requirements and provide high-quality smoothie services to the campus community.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the procurement documentation, potential respondents should be prepared to demonstrate comprehensive operational capabilities in food service management. The solicitation appears open to qualified commercial food service providers with experience in campus dining environments. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and there are no specific details about existing infrastructure requirements or technology integration mandates. The procurement does not specify a precise budget range or award value, though the comprehensive operational responsibilities suggest the contract could represent a significant commercial opportunity for the selected concessionaire. Interested vendors should carefully review the full eRFP documentation to understand the complete scope of requirements and ensure their proposal addresses all specified operational expectations for the University of Georgia smoothie concept concession.
