About this opportunity

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting statements of qualifications from design professional firms for the renovation of Building #1050 at the University of Georgia in Athens, with qualifications due July 17, 2026. Selected respondents may be invited to interview for the design services contract.

The project entails a total renovation of approximately 24,000 gross square feet of a concrete and masonry building originally constructed around 1939 with New Deal funding. The Environmental Health Sciences department will vacate the facility upon completion of the Science and Ag Hill Modernization Phase II relocation to Cedar Street Building B, enabling full-scale renovation. The renovated building will convert the historic structure's narrow footprint to centrally scheduled instructional spaces on D. W. Brooks Mall in UGA's south campus. Classrooms must meet UGA's three criteria for active-learning environments as defined in the institution's Quality Enhancement Plan, including a minimum of 25 square feet per student, mobile furnishings, and student collaboration tools.

The source does not provide an estimated contract value, contract term, specific evaluation criteria, or timeline for questions, pre-bid meetings, or award. No incumbent contractor is identified. Respondents are subject to complete review of all RFQ instructions and must follow those instructions carefully. The Board of Regents reserves the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications, waive technicalities and informalities at its discretion, and determine which firms are especially qualified for interview eligibility.
