About this opportunity

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting Statements of Qualifications for construction management at-risk services for the total renovation of Building 1050 at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, with responses due July 17, 2026.

The project encompasses approximately 24,000 gross square feet within a historic 1939 concrete-and-masonry structure comprising a central three-story form and a rear one-story wing. The renovation will convert the facility to centrally scheduled instructional space meeting the University's Active Learning classroom standards (minimum 25 square feet per student, mobile furnishings, student collaboration tools). A small area of approximately 900 square feet currently occupied by a food service vendor in the former Creamery will remain excluded from renovation and operational throughout construction.

The building, which has received only piecemealed improvements and last underwent extensive renovation in 2001 (limited to the rear wing), requires cohesive code enhancements including restroom improvements, elevator replacement, and other infrastructure updates. The Environmental Health Sciences department will relocate to Cedar Street Building B, freeing the building for full renovation. The renovated facility will be situated on D. W. Brooks Mall in the south campus core.

The University of Georgia is the user organization, with the Board of Regents serving as owner and issuing this procurement. No contract value, contract term, incumbent contractor, evaluation criteria weighting, or question-due and pre-qualification-meeting dates are specified in the source material.
