About this opportunity
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is soliciting qualifications from Executive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineers through Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 8403562 to support various capital improvement projects managed by UCLA Facilities Management. The procurement is open to qualified engineering firms that can provide comprehensive MEP engineering services including pre-design assessments, existing building system investigations, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding support, and construction administration services. Projects will be assigned on an as-needed basis over a potential three-year agreement term and will be primarily located on the UCLA main campus with possible work at UCLA-owned off-campus properties within the specified jurisdictions. UCLA intends to award up to four (4) Executive MEP Engineer agreements, with the selection committee evaluating respondents based on qualifications and the ability to handle varied project scopes within existing UCLA buildings under the jurisdiction of the Campus Building Official and Campus Fire Marshal. The Request for Qualifications was posted on February 20, 2026, with a submission deadline of March 16, 2026. Anticipated individual project costs range from $50,000 to $10 million, with final construction costs and scopes to be determined by each project's specific requirements and phasing needs.
The procurement document does not explicitly detail set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise restrictions, or incumbent vendor information in the provided summary. No specific existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are mentioned in the available procurement details. The award structure allows UCLA discretion in assigning qualified Executive MEP Engineers to projects based on their demonstrated experience and qualifications relative to specific project types and requirements. Interested firms should note that project scopes may be executed through several phased, incremental projects, and the anticipated cost range of $50,000 to $10 million per individual project reflects the diverse nature of renovation, alteration, deferred maintenance, and smart buildings and laboratories program initiatives that UCLA anticipates undertaking during the agreement term.
