About this opportunity

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking bids for the Utilities University Park Condensate Pipe Replacement Project (Project No. D24056, Bid No. 0462025), a critical infrastructure maintenance initiative located in Fairbanks. The procurement involves removing and replacing approximately 550 feet of existing condensate piping with pre-insulated carbon steel pipe, specifically connecting buried piping from Manhole 2 to Manhole 3 and from Manhole 3 to the University Park Building condensate pipe entrance. Bidders must submit electronic proposals through the Bid Express website by Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with bids to be opened and read aloud via teleconference. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Division of Design and Construction office, with web conferencing available upon written request. An additive alternate option exists for providing an anti-corrosion protective coating on the exterior of the condensate carrier piping, and bidders are advised that the University has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening.

The procurement is specifically designated for "Alaska Bidders" with state law requiring preferences for local and Alaska product providers. Bidders must submit bid security in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders, and the University reserves the right to reject any or all bids to ensure the best interest of the institution. As an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer, the University prohibits illegal discrimination and encourages diverse participation. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, funding for the project is confirmed available. Potential respondents must register through the Bid Express website to receive notifications of addenda and additional project information. Notably, the University emphasizes that acceptance of substitutions after contract award will be limited, and bidders should carefully review all documentation. Parking for the pre-bid site visit is limited, and attendees are advised to purchase a day parking pass from campus kiosks.
