About this opportunity

The City of College Park, Georgia is soliciting bids under Invitation to Bid 27-71 for tree-clearing services on two Godby Road parcels totaling approximately 6.231 acres, with a mandatory pre-bid conference on November 10, 2026. The City grants local preference to businesses with a staffed, fixed physical location within College Park limits for at least one year before bid submission, and may recommend a local bid up to 3% above the lowest non-local bid if all requirements are met. Minority-, woman-owned, and small businesses are strongly encouraged to bid, but no set-aside applies.

The scope covers cutting designated trees within approved clearing limits, cutting trunks to ground level, removing all generated debris, and transporting it to an authorized disposal or recycling facility. The contractor must exercise reasonable care to protect structures, pavement, utilities, adjacent properties, and vegetation designated to remain. The contractor must also obtain all federal, state, and county permits at no cost to the City. The attached boundary and topographic survey, prepared for the Godby Road Park Improvement project, references 2163 and 2177 Godby Road. It states that underground utility locations are approximate and unverified, so the contractor must determine exact locations before work begins and bears responsibility for damage from failure to locate utilities.

Insurance requirements include Georgia-compliant workers' compensation, a business auto policy of $1 million per claim, commercial general liability of $2 million per occurrence, and professional liability of $1 million per occurrence. Certificates of insurance are due within ten days of the Notice of Award. The bid bond must be no less than 5% of the bid amount. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond before the Notice to Proceed issues.

The contract is a one-time award for project completion with no renewal options. The City will award to the most responsive and responsible bidder, not necessarily the lowest-cost bidder, and it reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and re-advertise. Bid acceptance or rejection occurs within 90 days of bid opening.

Questions, answers, and clarifications are due November 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST through www.bidnetdirect.com/cityofcollegepark. The pre-bid conference runs November 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST at 2163 Godby Road, College Park, Georgia 30349, with a Microsoft Teams option. Electronic proposals are due November 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST.
