About this opportunity
The City of Houston, through Houston Public Works, is soliciting bids for treated pine lumber and exterior fir plywood, with bids due November 2, 2026. No set-aside or preference program is stated. The City will decide equivalency of any substitute "solely at [its] discretion," and each deviation requires a detailed explanation, not a general compliance statement.
The solicitation covers 2" x 8" x 20' and 4" x 6" x 8' pine lumber and 1/2" 4' x 8' exterior fir plywood. The 2" x 8" x 20' line is specified as No. 1 yellow pine, Wolmanized (CCA or ACQ preservative), meeting SPIB standards and surfaced four sides, with 192 units required. All products must be new, unused, and of first quality from well-known manufacturers.
Vendors must furnish, deliver, and transport the products to HPW West Houston Center at 13211 West Houston Center Boulevard, Houston, Texas, within ten calendar days of purchase order receipt, during business hours Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pricing is FOB Destination with freight prepaid, and the vendor retains title until delivery and acceptance. The City has ten business days to inspect and accept deliveries, and the vendor pays shipping for replacements of items that fail inspection or are defective during the warranty period. Delivery vehicles must offload without City equipment, though an on-site forklift is available on request. Each delivery requires a delivery ticket listing exact quantities.
