This sealed-bid procurement by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Procurement Services seeks a contractor for a minor construction project involving the installation of an exhaust system at the Traverse City Customer Service Center (2122 South M-37, Traverse City, Michigan 49685) located in Grand Traverse County. The project requires installation of a 4,000 CFM wall-mounted louvered exhaust fan (48" to 54" in size) with rain hood on the north wall, a proportionally sized louvered intake damper with rain hood on the south wall, electrical components and wiring connections to the existing circuit panel, a manual timer switch providing minimum 30 minutes of operation time, and all necessary galvanized ductwork. Work must be performed Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an optional pre-bid open house available at the project site. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, with public bid opening and reading to follow immediately thereafter, and the contract completion deadline is September 30, 2019. The state will award to the responsive and responsible bidder offering the best value based on quality of service, conformity with specifications, and suitability to state requirements.

All contractors must comply with Michigan residency requirements mandating that 50 percent of workers employed by the prime contractor or subcontractors have been Michigan residents for at least one year. Bidders must carry commercial general liability insurance with limits of $2,000,000 per occurrence and commercial automobile liability insurance with $2,000,000 combined single limit, register for electronic funds transfer (EFT) payment through the Michigan vendor system, and provide subcontractor information if any portion of work is subcontracted.
