About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB605NW21001073) to procure Trap Rock--Washed Manufactured Sand from Rhyolite Material for its Northwest Area. The procurement seeks a vendor to provide and deliver trap rock to three specific locations: Savannah (1,870 tons), Rushville (2,970 tons), and Lathrop (2,120 tons), Missouri. All deliveries must be completed by March 15, 2021, with a minimum daily delivery requirement of 500 tons. The bid submission period runs from December 31, 2020, to January 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM CST, with electronic submissions, mail, UPS, or FedEx deliveries accepted. Vendors intending to submit hard copy bids must contact the buyer by January 11, 2021. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder based on the grand total sum across all locations while meeting the specified technical requirements. Pricing must include delivery costs, and each delivery requires a detailed ticket showing gross, tare, and net weights, vehicle identification, date/time, purchase order number, and item specifications.
The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Women Business Enterprises (WBE), with goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation through subcontractors, suppliers, or joint ventures. Service-Disabled Veteran (SDV) and Service-Disabled Veteran Business (SDVE) participation is also requested. Bidders must provide a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or bank money order for 5% of the bid amount, and the winning vendor must furnish a performance bond or equivalent for 100% of the contract price. Payment terms are net 30 days, and liquidated damages of $200 per day per item may be assessed for late deliveries. While MoDOT does not guarantee any specific purchase volume during the initial contract period, the estimated total contract value encompasses the aggregate quantities for the three delivery locations. The contract includes an Anti-Discrimination Against Israel Certification requirement and will be governed by the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction 2020 Edition.
