About this opportunity

The City of Long Beach Department of Public Works Transportation Mobility Bureau is requesting bids on an as-needed supply basis for traffic delineators under ITB PW-22-151, with bids due October 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM. A local preference of up to 10% (capped at $10,000) applies to bidders holding both a current City of Long Beach business license and seller's permit showing a place of business within city limits.

The scope covers two product categories: K71 Traffic Post Vertical Delineators and Custom Wide Delineators (12"×36" with Type K marker configuration, black ink, and 6" sergeant stripes). Addendum No. 1 (September 20, 2022) approved the Pexco City Post EAC as an equal product, meeting MUTCD, NCHRP 350, and MASH requirements. Addendum No. 2 (September 23, 2022) approved the SHUR-TITE U-FLEX Flush Mount Channelizer as an acceptable alternative—a 3-inch round polyurethane post in heights from 18 to 36 inches, MASH-tested, CalTrans-approved, and capable of withstanding over 200 impacts at 70 MPH. Pricing is F.O.B. Destination to 1651 San Francisco Avenue, Long Beach, California 90813, with payment terms Net 30 and no price increases allowed during the initial 12-month contract period.

The contract term is twelve months from award, with options for extension for up to three additional one-year periods at the City's discretion. Bidders must provide five current customer references and maintain commercial general liability insurance of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, workers' compensation coverage, and automobile liability of not less than $500,000 combined single limit, with the City named as additional insured. Vendor warranty requires replacement of unacceptable orders within 48 hours. Questions were due September 9, 2022. The City intends to award to a single contractor but reserves the right to award to multiple vendors. The Notice of Intent to Award, issued October 18, 2022, identified Statewide Traffic Safety and Signs, Inc. dba Statewide Safety Systems (Santa Ana, California) as the lowest responsive bidder.
