About this opportunity

The City of St. Marys Public Works Department (Georgia) is requesting sealed bids for marshwalk repairs at 425 West St. Marys Street, with bids due February 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. EST. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for December 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.; advance approval from Shawn Clearwater (sclearwater@stmarysga.gov) is required for alternative arrangements.

The scope includes removal and disposal of existing decking and handrails, installation of new decking, installation of new handrails, and installation of post sleeves and caps. The City of St. Marys will supply all new materials. Temporary removal and re-attachment of existing electrical components (lights, outlets, conduit, and distribution panel) are included. Bidders must submit lump sum pricing for four line items.

The contract term is 60 consecutive calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages are $200 per day for each day beyond the 60-day deadline. The contractor must provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to the total contract price, with surety companies listed on Treasury Department Circular 570. Commercial General Liability and Commercial Automobile Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and Workers' Compensation with Employers Liability limits of $1,000,000 per accident are required. A one-year warranty on workmanship applies.

All contractors and subcontractors must comply with Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act requirements and provide affidavits verifying federal work authorization program participation. Interested bidders must email business information to Sarah Lee (slee@stmarysga.gov) to be placed on the Plan Holders List for addenda. One original and two copies of bid documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the City of St. Marys, 418 Osborne Street. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and will make award selection based on which bid is most responsive and responsible, with the Mayor and Council making final award at a regularly scheduled Council meeting.
