About this opportunity

Temple University is seeking qualified contractors to bid on the Plumbing and Fire Protection Package for the Bronchoscopy Suite renovations at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The project involves comprehensive renovation of existing space on the first and second floors and roof, creating a new Bronchoscopy Suite with four procedure rooms (three Bronchoscopy rooms and one Pleuroscopy room), along with supporting spaces including decontamination, processing, documentation, storage, check-in, waiting areas, and new bathrooms. The procurement is structured as a multi-prime contract arrangement, with separate prime contractors for General Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing and Fire Protection packages. The plumbing and fire protection scope requires contractors to provide all necessary services, labor, materials, supervision, tools, equipment, insurance, and applicable taxes to complete the project. Key deadlines include a tentative bid release date of September 14, 2021, with bids due on October 20, 2021. Interested parties must contact Naomi Greenberg at projects@temple.edu by August 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. EST to participate in the bidding process through TUebid, Temple University's online solicitation management system.

The contract opportunity has specific registration requirements, with no bids accepted from entities not registered in the TUebid system. Registration applications must be submitted no later than five days prior to the bid receipt date, and entities must be legally in existence at the time of bid submission. No specific set-aside designations or preferences for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned in the available documentation. The project is planned to be constructed in three phases to accommodate ongoing hospital operations, which suggests potential complexity and the need for contractors with healthcare renovation experience. While no specific budget or award value is provided, the comprehensive nature of the renovation and the multi-prime contract structure indicate a potentially significant project scope. The procurement is limited to qualified contractors able to meet Temple University's specific technical and operational requirements for a specialized medical suite renovation.
