About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for telescopic ladders with bids due October 7, 2008. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the State, with tie-bid preference given to in-state vendors or those offering Maine-manufactured products.
Bidders must submit a State Purchasing Code of Conduct Affidavit certifying compliance with workplace laws, labor standards, and human rights obligations at their facilities and those of their suppliers at the point of assembly. The affidavit covers wage, health, labor, environmental, and safety laws; freedom of association; building and fire codes; and anti-discrimination provisions based on race, disability, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or civic affiliation. Bidders must also affirm compliance with shared human and labor rights treaty obligations between the United States and the country of assembly, encompassing forced labor, child labor, involuntary prison labor, physical and sexual abuse, and freedom of association protections. The completed affidavit must be faxed to Sue Garcia at 207-287-6578 no later than the bid opening date and time.
Bids must be submitted electronically with separate unit prices for each item as prescribed. Pricing must be delivered to destination with all discounts included and excludes Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes. Transportation charges must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Time of delivery must be stated in definite terms, and contractors must furnish items exactly as specified without deviation. Cash discounts of less than 20 days will not be considered in award determinations. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. Manufacturers and suppliers of hazardous chemicals must provide current material safety data sheets in compliance with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
