About this opportunity

McKinley County in New Mexico is soliciting technical support and monitoring services for a comprehensive radio communication system, specifically covering Motorola MOTO TRBO radio infrastructure including repeaters, handhelds, mobile units, microwave links, wiring, and antenna systems. The procurement also encompasses FCC radio licensing and AVTEC radio console system support, which includes servers, endpoints, hardware, and software. The contract opportunity was posted on August 13, 2025, with proposals due by September 13, 2025. While the primary contract details are somewhat limited, the opportunity appears to require specialized technical expertise in radio communication systems, with vendors needing demonstrated experience in maintaining complex communication networks. Potential respondents should possess advanced technical certifications, comprehensive understanding of radio frequency systems, and proven capability to manage intricate communication infrastructure. The scope of work demands proficiency in radio system diagnostics, maintenance, licensing compliance, and potentially emergency communication support.

Although specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the contract appears to be open to qualified technical service providers with specialized radio communication expertise. The opportunity does not indicate specific restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises or small business preferences. No incumbent vendor information is directly referenced in the available materials. The existing infrastructure appears to center on Motorola MOTO TRBO radio systems and AVTEC radio console technologies, suggesting potential integration requirements for any new service provider. While no precise budget range is specified, the technical complexity of the radio system monitoring and support services implies a substantial professional services contract likely requiring significant technical infrastructure investment and ongoing maintenance capabilities.

Due to continued flood damage caused by the burn scar resulting from the Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak Fire, continued emergency debris removal and emergency repair is needed for the San Miguel/Mora County areas. In order to continue these services through the current monsoon season and into the winter, we are looking to extend the existing contract by 60days.
