About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on tape with proposals due September 30, 2009.
Bids must be submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases in Augusta by the closing deadline. The state will award based on lowest responsible bidder pricing combined with best value considerations including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery dates, and ultimate cost. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item, with all prices inclusive of discounts and delivery to destination. All transportation charges, including freight and express delivery, must be prepaid and borne by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts under twenty days are not considered in award determinations.
The state is exempt from federal taxes and Maine state sales and use taxes; bidders should quote accordingly without including these tax amounts. Contractors must furnish items exactly as specified. The Division reserves the right to reject any or all bids, increase or decrease quantities by up to ten percent, and procure materials from alternative sources at the contractor's expense in case of default. Contractors are not liable for delays caused by strikes, fires, acts of God, or other causes beyond reasonable control.
Suppliers of hazardous chemicals must comply with Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law by providing current material safety data sheets to direct purchasers.
