About this opportunity
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has issued an Invitation to Bid/Request for Quote (ITB/RFQ) for Bridge Maintenance and Repair services, specifically targeting project T32-D2-Bridge Maint-A1 Hancock-169512. This procurement is being conducted under Georgia state law, specifically O.C.G.A 32-1-3 and 32-2-61, which authorizes the department to procure services related to public road infrastructure maintenance. Only contractors who have been prequalified through the routine maintenance prequalification process and awarded a Master Service Agreement (MSA) under contract #48400-410-000021912 are eligible to participate in this solicitation. The primary objective is to secure qualified firms capable of performing comprehensive bridge maintenance and repair services, with GDOT reserving the right to modify existing provisions, reject any or all bids, and waive technicalities at its discretion. The solicitation was posted on January 17, 2025, with bid responses due by February 3, 2025, providing potential bidders approximately two weeks to prepare and submit their proposals.
The procurement is strictly limited to prequalified contractors who have already been vetted through GDOT's specific maintenance prequalification process. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned in the provided documentation. The contract appears to be part of a larger master service agreement framework, suggesting potential ongoing maintenance work rather than a one-time project. While specific budget ranges or award values are not disclosed in the solicitation summary, the specialized nature of bridge maintenance and repair implies a potentially significant contract value. GDOT has structured this procurement to ensure only technically qualified and experienced contractors can bid, thereby maintaining high standards for critical infrastructure maintenance. The department maintains considerable flexibility in the procurement process, including the ability to modify contract provisions and reject submissions that do not meet its requirements.
