About this opportunity
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a qualified contractor to supply and install a comprehensive fencing system for the SW District Neosho Maintenance Complex located in Newton County. The project requires the installation of approximately 800 linear feet of Type "A" 9-gauge chain link fence, standing 7 feet high and topped with three strands of barbed wire, resulting in a total fence height of 8 feet with tension wire at the top. The scope of work includes installing two separate gate systems: a manually swinging gate along Malcom Mosby Drive consisting of two 16-foot sections providing a 32-foot opening, and a manually sliding gate along the southern fence line with identical specifications. Bid submissions are due by November 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM CST, with site visits available by scheduling with Jeremy Hopper at (417) 408-5173 no later than November 1, 2021. The contract requires full project completion by May 5, 2022, and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Evaluation criteria include compliance with specifications, gate installation, fence construction, and adherence to prevailing wage requirements.
The solicitation encourages participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women Business Enterprises (WBEs), with specific goals of 10% MBE and 5% WBE participation. Bidders must submit a bid bond or security equal to 5% of the bid amount, and the successful contractor will be required to provide performance and payment bonds covering 100% of the contract price. No incumbent contractor is identified for this project, which will be funded through state sources. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed for late completion, and contractors must maintain specified insurance coverage, including $3 million in commercial general liability and automobile liability insurance, as well as workers' compensation coverage. The project does not specify a precise budget range, but bidders are expected to submit lump sum pricing for the entire scope of work. Additional requirements include compliance with federal work authorization programs, prevailing wage standards under Chapter 290 RSMo for Newton County, and adherence to all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
