About this opportunity

Floyd County School System is selling seven surplus school buses as a single lot under Invitation to Bid RFP 22-170, with sealed bids due May 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. to Greg Studdard, CFO, at the Floyd County Board of Education Central Office, 600 Riverside Parkway, Rome, Georgia.

The lot comprises one 1997 Chevrolet, two 2004 Freightliners, and four 2009 International Harvesters; the school system sells on an "as is, where is" basis with no guarantees. Prospective bidders must inspect the buses by appointment only, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., by contacting Director of Transportation Trevor Hubbard prior to bid submission. The winning bidder must remove all buses no later than Friday, May 13, 2022, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Bidders must submit a notarized non-collusion affidavit with their sealed bid and complete the provided bid form. Payment must be made by cashier's check with no exceptions. The school system reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, waive irregularities, award to a single contractor or by group or line item as deemed in the best interest of the district, and unilaterally terminate the contract for convenience or failure to fulfill obligations. Bid tabulations will be made available upon request to any vendor who submitted a bid. The award was subsequently granted to Sherold Salmon Motor Company.
