About this opportunity

The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is seeking proposals for the Supported Decision Making Technical Assistance Program (SDM-TAP) Grant - Professional Implementation. This is a grant opportunity focused on increasing awareness and successful implementation of supported decision-making (SDM) among professionals serving individuals within intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), aging, and mental health populations. The grant will fund projects to conduct outreach, adapt or create training tools, and provide implementation support to professionals in focus areas such as educational services, financial services, legal/judicial services, and medical/healthcare services. Applicants must demonstrate subject matter expertise in SDM, existing relationships with professionals in the focus areas, and the ability to partner with self-advocacy organizations. Proposals are due by April 22, 2024, and the SCDD will award a minimum of $150,000 and a maximum of $800,000 per project, with a total of $3,000,000 available to fund up to five grant projects.

Eligible applicants include local government agencies, non-government organizations, tribal organizations, community-based non-profits, and established 501(c)(3) coalitions. The SCDD will give priority to applicants that create or build on collaborative partnerships, demonstrate outreach and service provision to underserved populations, and have an existing presence in California. The SCDD reserves the right to reject any proposal and will hold a public protest period from May 10-20, 2024, with final award notifications expected by May 27, 2024.
