About this opportunity
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking letters of interest from county soil and water conservation districts to administer a water quality implementation program for the Lake Champlain Watershed, with submissions due October 26, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. Eligible applicants are restricted to the Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Warren, and Washington County Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) — a sole-source-like eligibility gate that defines the competitive field to five specific entities in the Lake Champlain Region.
The selected SWCD will serve as Project Sponsor and provide administrative and technical services to implement Best Management Practice Systems that reduce, abate, control, or prevent soil erosion and nonpoint source pollution from both agricultural and non-agricultural sources within the Lake Champlain Watershed. Deliverables include implementation of water quality activities funded through U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Lake Champlain Basin Program Grants.
Letters of interest should be emailed to Tyler Knapp, Division of Land and Water Resources, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets, at Tyler.Knapp@agriculture.ny.gov. No contract value, term, or further evaluation criteria are specified in the notice.
